Does you company employ a Citrix server as a way to give all computer access to required programs and vital documents? While this is a very effective way to network all of your computers, there will be times when you face connection problems, which completely debilitate your staff. When this happens, you’ll need to work as quickly as possible to locate the issue and correct it. While there may be something wrong with your server, it could also be an issue with your client computers. Check all of your client computers. If there are some computers that are able to connect, you’re most likely dealing with an issue on your client computers. Examining your Server Although troubleshooting a Citrix server can be very complex, you may be able to solve the problem easily. This you’ll want to access your server’s application properties. You should be given a list of your applications. Are all-relevant applications enabled? If there are some that have been disabled, you’ll want to make sure to enable them and try connecting to the server again. If you can still not connect, you’ll want to attempt to balance out the load to correct the Citrix Protocol Error. In order to do this, you’ll want to check all of the servers connected to your applications. Have any of these servers gone offline? Be sure to remove all of the offline servers and attempt to reconnect to the network. From the client computer To check the connection from your client computer, you’ll want to ping the server. Did you receive a response from the Citrix server? If you do not receive a response, you’ll need to check to ensure that the server is up and running. If you do receive a response, you’ll want to try to telnet to the server. This will help you determine whether or not a connection to your Citrix network can be made. |
